This memo is in regards to the massage therapy club.
The eligibility requirements are met:
1. The LMT program is offers certificates and an AAS degree at COCC.
2. The program is active
3. We do not receive money from OSU.
The application process questions are answered below:
1. The ASCOCC mission statement will be adhered to through the services the club will provide the massage therapy students. The club will create an organized venue for the students to discuss their experiences at COCC. This environment will allow the students to share the challenges of massage school and the triumphs. Massage school can have a profound effect on an individual and students may be more successful if they know there is peer support in the process. The students will also have more opportunities to give back to the COCC community and the public at large by being a part of an organization. The LMT program receives a call a day requesting volunteers to perform free chair massage at various functions. This club will be able to dedicate time to perform free massage on the public in the form of community service. This will be advantageous to the students and the college. The club would also give structure and a single voice to the students in the LMT program which they are currently lacking. The MT club can also be used as a networking group for the students. This networking will assist them in future employment.

4. We are requesting $2000.00 for the massage club.
We are calculating using $2200.00; we will raise the difference with fundraisers.
- The members can attend workshops involving massage modalities, insurance billing, and employment. Approximately $75.00 per member, this does not include any travel, food or lodging. 75 @ 20 members = $1500.00.
- A celebration will be arranged to honor the graduating students twice a year. Approximately $150.00 - $200.00. 200 @ 2 starts a year = $400.00.
- Refreshments may be provided at some of the meetings. Approximately $40.00 - $50.00. 50 @ 6 meetings with refreshments = $300.00
- $1500.00 for workshops, $400.00 for graduation celebration, $300.00 for meeting refreshments, total $2200.00.
- Having a massage club, PRICELESS.
