Alvin TJ Becker

Introduction
I moved to Central Oregon in 1998 in an effort to find employment. Previous to living here much of my time had been spent in the forests and high prairies near John Day and Seneca Oregon where I spent much of my teenage years. Unfortunately as those things go the job market is very small over there and as I grew up I was faced with the prospect that there really aren't many prospects over there. After I met some friends in the Central Oregon community and managed to find some jobs in the restaurant business, I decided to call it home and have stayed here ever since.

Career/College Goals
I started going to school at COCC to attain some sort of degree and find a better career that what I was afforded as a chef. A close friend of mine talked me into going to school and I have been slowly attaining a transfer module toward a bachelor of sciences in Psychology here at COCC. Mind you I didn't know what I wanted to go to school for but thanks to the great support of the staff and faculty at COCC I found my direction and went for it. Early in my time at the college I garnered a strong interest in Psychology after taking one of the introductory Psychology classes. The rest is, as they say, history.
