Election Process:
Three Executive Council members will be elected by the student body. The elected members will then interview and appoint three General Council Members. These six students make up the ASCOCC Student Government Council.
Here are the general requirements of all student government positions.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in all training and development sessions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, during the week prior to classes of the fall term.
2. Actively work a minimum of fifteen (15) hours per week towards ASCOCC duties during each academic term, but excluding break periods and the summer term.
3. Serve on two campus governance committees, including but not limited to: Academic Affairs, College Affairs, Curriculum, Diversity, Institutional Support, Parking Appeals, and Student Affairs. Report at the monthly Board of Directors meetings.
4. Provide leadership and meet all requirements in one of the following operational roles: Marketing coordinator, Events coordinator, Clubs coordinator, Budget coordinator, Hospitality coordinator or Project coordinator.
Compensation:
Council members will be compensated $750 per month for each full month of service.
Benefits are not included. Checks will be issued according to the college’s payroll calendar once a month. Taxes and benefits will be deducted as appropriate.

April 22-26 Meet the Candidates Forum
April 28-May 2 Elections (Facilitated over the web on Blackboard)
May 5 Executive Council Members Announced
May 9 General Council Packets need to be turned in by 4 P.M.
